When I lived in Montecito, I used to pass her house on my way to and from work at the Santa Barbara Biltmore Hotel. I never actually saw her out mowing the lawn or anything. However, I really liked knowing that I lived near her.
Lena Horne is 92 years old today. That's her and Bill "Bojangles" Robinson in Stormy Weather (1943).
